History of the College of Pharmacy
The College of Pharmacy at the University of Mosul was established in 1964 AD, then It was closed in 1970 AD after two consecutive graduations in 1969 AD and 1970 AD. It reopened at the University of Mosul in 1992 AD. Total years achieved for the College of Pharmacy 6 years before closing and 32 years after reopening (1992-2023 AD).
College anniversary day is the twelfth of April every year.
The flag of the college consists of blue and red colors in a rectangular shape divided by a line from the upper left to the lower right. The blue color symbolizes the University of Mosul and the red color symbolizes the medical faculty.
The logo of the college is derived largely from the logo of the University of Mosul and contains in the middle the pharmaceutical mortar used in the preparation of medical prescriptions, surrounded by two plant leaves to indicate treatments of plant origin, as well as the serrated arc that symbolizes the pharmaceutical industry that produces tablets, capsules and other pharmaceutical dosage forms, and it presented on the right side of the mortar And the plant leaves, then the winged bull (lamassu) , which symbolizes the ancient and ancient history of knowledge in Mosul. Each is placed on a book symbolizing the science that is presented in the faculties and departments of the University of Mosul. The logo also contains the Hijri (the Arabic calendar) and the Gregorian calender that determine the reopening of the college.
College building site
The College of Pharmacy is located within the faculty of the medical colleges at the University of Mosul. It is surrounded by the College of Veterinary Medicine to the south, the College of Nursing to the west, College of Medicine to the north, and the College of Dentistry to the east. This site gave it a distinct and clear place for visitors from inside and outside the university.
Opening of the college building
The college was moved to the new building in 2010-2011, which has a wide area of buildings and contains a large number of classrooms and twenty laboratories for primary and postgraduate studies.
