In pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals—Goal Four: Quality Education, and Goal Nine: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure—and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit (at the Presidency of the University of Mosul), the College of Political Science continues to host the Scientific Research Skills Development Program for postgraduate students.

On Wednesday, 17 December 2025, the program featured a workshop entitled “Mechanisms for Publishing Research Written in English in International Indexing Databases”, delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Tariq Mohammed Dhnun, a faculty member of the International Relations Branch. On the following day, Thursday, 18 December 2025, the Head of the Branch, Professor Dr. Hazem Hamad Mousa, presented his workshop entitled “The Art of Writing Research Chapters and Drawing Conclusions from the Research Process.”

The two workshops discussed mechanisms of rigorous academic writing, requirements for publication in reputable and internationally indexed scientific journals, criteria for selecting academic databases, and the principles of constructing research chapters and their logical sequence. They also addressed methods of analyzing results and deriving conclusions in a precise scientific manner, with emphasis on research ethics and avoiding academic plagiarism, thereby contributing to raising the quality of research output among postgraduate students.

These workshops are part of the university’s training program dedicated to postgraduate students, which aims to develop research capacities and enable students to prepare solid scientific theses and dissertations in accordance with international academic standards, within a continuous educational series totaling thirty training hours.
