Scientific discussion _ college of law

On Monday, 2/22/2021, a doctoral student in the private law branch, Nabil Muhammad Salih, was discussed in our college about his thesis tagged (Directions for the Development of Civil Procedures and Arbitration for Resolving Commercial Disputes in the Republic of Iraq) under the supervision of Dr. YasirEssamDaoud.

The discussion committee is headed by Dr. YusraWalid Ibrahim and the membership of Dr. Mustafa NateqSaleh and Dr. Muhannad Ibrahim Ali / Faculty of Law, University of Mosul, Dr. Ali Hussein Kaoud / Faculty of Law, Tikrit University, and Dr. HatemGhayebSaeed / Faculty of Law, University of Fallujah

The researcher discussed the issue of considering Iraq one of the largest oil exporters in the world, which makes it a source of attraction for foreign and local investment. The study of Iraqi legal legislation in the field of resolving disputes of a commercial nature is of great importance by examining the Iraqi legislation and identifying its most important features

The researcher reached a number of results, the foremost of which was the necessity and urgent need for the Iraqi legislator to enact an arbitration law that is concerned with organizing the arbitration process completely from its concept and procedures and its implementation based on international and Arab laws and agreements and not leaving its texts scattered and dispersed with an emphasis on the importance of activating Iraq’s accession to the New York Convention For the year 1958 relating to the recognition of arbitration decisions
