World Refugee Day _ College of law

The College of Law at the University of Mosul has been working to achieve community communication by recalling the international days related to the life of the individual and society, and from these days the International Refugee Day, which falls on the twentieth of June of each year, where this day is celebrated through the establishment of many social and cultural activities and events that discuss The refugee issue sheds light on it, shows its causes, ways of support and assistance, and finding solutions to its causes, especially in light of the increasing crises around the world and the resulting increase in the number of refugees. This day also expresses the will of the individual and groups in their quest to escape from places of conflict and persecution towards safer and more stable places. This day also mobilizes feelings towards sympathy with the refugee towards his quest to build a life or rebuild, but doing this is not limited to individual or limited efforts by the refugee or a small group, but rather the political will must combine with the resources and possibilities available to provide a decent life, and the celebration returns The first on this day goes back to 2001 on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees, and that day was initially called Pew The African refugee was then considered by the United Nations General Assembly as International Refugee Day in December 2000, where the United Nations called on this day under the slogan (Together we recover, learn and shine) to the need to support refugees around the world and provide them with protection in addition to the adoption of health systems The UNHCR also acknowledged that it seeks to expand the refugee’s capacity by accessing primary and secondary health care, in addition to enabling their children to access quality education to build a better life

The College of Law at the University of Mosul deals with scientific and academic effort and perseverance by researching and studying the reasons and causes that push individuals and groups to leave their countries and places and settle in places where the simplest means of life care may not be available. Workshops and seminars aimed at enlightening national and international communities about the refugee and his rights
