The thesis submitted by researcher Susan Jamal Jiyad in the branch of human rights law addressed the role of the Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission in managing and monitoring the electoral process compared to the Independent Electoral Commission in South Africa and the Independent Electoral Commission in Tunisia, especially after the legal amendments to the election laws from 2019 to 2023 in All of the comparison countries.
The letter aims to explain that elections in Iraq are held every four years, while in South Africa every five years, subject to renewal. In Tunisia, elections are held every six years, not subject to renewal.
