Under the supervision of Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and in the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College of Law, and the members of the College Council, and with the follow-up of Assistant Professor Dr. Shaima Abdul Sattar Jabr, Head of the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Unit, our college hosted a delegation from the Al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine on Thursday, January 30, 2025, where Dr. Jassam Muhammad Al-Saeedi gave a specialized scientific lecture on national identity and its role in social integration, in which he addressed the concept of rights and legally protected rights and their relationship to national identity, while providing a comprehensive explanation of national identity, stating the difference between the concepts of the state and the country, which is earlier in its establishment than the state. The lecture also touched on the impact of social media on human culture, stating the basic elements of cultural identity (religion, values, customs and traditions, fashion, family and societal structure, and language), then he directed the attendees from academics, researchers and interested parties Regarding the legal issue, many students had questions and inquiries about the lecture topic, which were answered in detail by those in charge of it. Then, the Dean of the College presented certificates of appreciation to the guests of our college in appreciation and recognition of their distinguished efforts in giving this lecture, which comes within a series of scientific, research, cultural and student activities for our college during the current academic year 2024-2025.
