The Quality Assurance and University Performance Department at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, in cooperation with the College of Law / University of Mosul, organized an awareness lecture titled: “Climate Change and Its Impact on Iraq” .

The lecture targeted the staff (faculty members and employees) of the College of Law, as part of a series of scientific activities carried out by the departments, colleges, and research centers at the University of Mosul, within the framework of implementing the curriculum items set out in the national plan.

The lecture addressed the most prominent environmental challenges associated with climate change and its repercussions on the Iraqi reality in terms of water resources, desertification, and rising temperatures, as well as emphasizing the importance of community awareness and institutional role in mitigating this phenomenon.

It also highlighted the necessity of integrating efforts between academic and governmental institutions to enhance environmental sustainability and adopt effective policies that contribute to mitigating the effects of climate change.

The lecture was held on the morning of Sunday, April 26, 2026, in Dr. Amer Al-Jumard Hall at the College of Law / University of Mosul, with notable attendance and positive interaction from the participants.
