A Faculty Member from the College of Law at the University of Mosul Participates in the Periodic Meeting of the Child Protection Committee at the Office of the Nineveh Governorate

Dr. Suhad Abduljabbar, a faculty member at the College of Law, University of Mosul, participated in the periodic meeting of the Child Protection Committee, which was convened by the Office of the Nineveh Governorate, with the participation of a representative from the Human Rights Commission and a number of representatives from government departments, academic institutions, and international organizations.

Dr. Suhad Abduljabbar’s participation comes within the framework of the College of Law’s commitment to contributing actively to community initiatives and specialized committees concerned with protecting children’s rights and enhancing the legal environment that supports this demographic.

The meeting discussed the current situation of childhood in Nineveh Governorate, ways to support the educational environment, and raising awareness of the importance of regular school attendance, in addition to reviewing the most prominent social challenges facing children, and putting forward a number of practical proposals for developing programs and initiatives aimed at supporting children and their families.

The participants emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination between governmental, academic, and relevant organizations, and preparing a joint action plan that contributes to providing a safe and stimulating environment for children’s development, thereby strengthening the protection of their rights and keeping pace with efforts aimed at supporting social development in Nineveh Governorate.
