Master’s thesis in the branch of human rights law on combating terrorism and its impact on civil and political rights,,, On Monday, June 26, 2023, the Human Rights Law Branch at the Faculty of Law at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis on combating terrorism and its impact on civil and political rights, part of which was attended by Prof. Dr. Qusai Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, President of the University of Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the Faculty of Law, and a number of members of the Faculty Council and its teachers.
The thesis submitted by the student Anwar Farhan Mashaan in the branch of human rights law dealt with the phenomenon of terrorism, which is an ancient phenomenon that reappeared at different periods, whether in national societies or in international relations, where the term terrorism was used for the first time in France in 1795 and then dealt with multiple jurisprudential definitions based on describing it as organized violence to achieve political, social or religious goals, and then it was defined in several legal legislations, and terrorism has several Shapes and pictures.

The letter indicated that the Iraqi legislator dealt with the term terrorism for the first time in the Iraqi Constitution of 2005 and dealt with the phenomenon of terrorism through special legislation to combat it came No. 13 of 2005 and the Iraqi legislator did not provide a specific definition of the term terrorism, as he defined it as dealing with some acts that are described as terrorist and mentioned for example, but not limited to.
The discussion committee was headed by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yousef Muhaimeed, and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Hala Ahmed Mohamed, Assistant Professor Dr. Caesar Salem Younis, and the membership and supervision of Prof. Dr. Abdulaziz Ramadan Ali.
