Professor Dr. Muhammad Younis Yahya, one of the teachers in the Human Rights Law Branch at the College of Law at the University of Mosul, participated in the scientific symposium held by the Media Department at the College of Arts and tagged ((Drugs and their Effects on Society)) on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. The participation was represented by a research paper that addressed the causes of drug abuse. Its forms and health harms and its consequences on society economically, socially, health-wise and psychologically, and the role of the media, the university and the law in confronting the danger of drugs. The symposium also aimed to develop awareness among members of society about the phenomenon of drugs, and to enhance the role of the media and communication in spreading the culture of avoiding drug abuse and activating the role of the university in increasing society’s awareness of the dangers. Drugs through its various activities, and the above participation represents the distinguished role of the dean of our college in motivating its members to participate in scientific, research and cultural activities and events aimed at raising community awareness of the dangers of phenomena and pests that pose a threat to community cohesion.
