Master’s thesis in the private law branch on rulings related to relatives/comparative study,,,
On Thursday, November 16, 2023, the Private Law Branch at the College of Law at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis on provisions related to relatives/a comparative study, part of which was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Nemat Ibrahim Al-Saadi, Dean of the College, and a number of members of the College Council and its faculty.
The thesis submitted by student Muhammad Mardan Aswad in the private law branch dealt with the provisions related to relatives, comparing jurisprudence and Iraqi and comparative law, while strengthening this with the judicial rulings issued by the Iraq Court of Cassation, while addressing the provisions on alimony and inheritance for relatives.
The thesis aims to point out the shortcomings of some legal texts in dealing with the provisions of alimony and inheritance in general and in the provisions of alimony and inheritance of relatives in particular. Also, the concept of relatives in the chapter on expenses differs from its concept in the chapter on inheritance. In the chapter on expenses, they are relatives who are not ascendants and descendants. As for the chapter Heirs are relatives who are not holders of inheritances and clans.
The discussion committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Taha Saleh Khalaf, and the membership was Assistant Professor Dr. Habib Idris Issa, Assistant Professor Dr. Amer Mustafa Ahmed, and the membership and supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Nadia Khairaldin Aziz.
