Dr. Raqib Muhammad Jassim, Head of the UNESCO Chair, Dr. Ahmed Faris Idris, Dr. Ikram Basil, and Dr. Hajar Salem / College of Law participated in cooperation with the UNESCO Chair and the College of Pharmacy at the University of Mosul on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, in the work of the workshop entitled The Role of UNESCO Chair Programs in the Field of Violent Extremism and Promoting a Culture of Peace, which addressed the role of the UNESCO Chair Program in the field of combating violent extremism and promoting a culture of peace. The workshop aims to enhance the role of academic and student parties in spreading a culture of peace, in addition to highlighting the activities of the UNESCO Chair at the University of Mosul. The program also included a detailed explanation of the University of Mosul’s excellence recall system and the importance of international cooperation and programs supported by the UNESCO Chair, in addition to the nature of the workshops, conferences, and cultural programs held by the Chair to support efforts to combat extremism and promote constructive dialogue. The workshop received great attention, as it emphasized the role of the University of Mosul in enhancing scientific and cultural cooperation to achieve a safe and sustainable environment.
