The Department of Environmental Health at the College of Environmental Sciences, in cooperation with the Academics Syndicate and the College of Law, organized a workshop entitled “The Role of Disciplinary Sanctions in Reducing Administrative and Financial Corruption” on Thursday, May 22, 2025.
Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Ahmed, a lecturer in the Public Law Department at the College of Law, delivered a specialized scientific lecture discussing the nature of administrative and financial corruption as a global phenomenon whose severity varies depending on oversight systems and laws. He emphasized that Iraqi legislators have established gradual punitive mechanisms (from reprimand to dismissal from public office) to confront this phenomenon, emphasizing the need to activate them to protect society from its harmful effects.
