Today, we discuss the rich academic career of Professor Abbas Zaboun Al-Aboudi, a pioneer at the College of Law at the University of Mosul. Professor Abbas Zaboun Al-Aboudi is one of the icons of law and teaching in Iraq. We ask God to grant him continued health and wellness so he can continue his contributions.

– Birth and Education: Born in 1949.
– Early Years: He completed his preparatory studies (1963-1965), then joined the Teachers’ College in Baghdad (1966-1968).
– Specialization in Law:
He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Al-Mustansiriya University in Baghdad and a Master’s degree in Private Law from the University of Baghdad in 1984.
– He practiced law after obtaining his Master’s degree.
– Academic Career: He began his teaching career and moved to Nineveh Governorate as a lecturer at the College of Law at the University of Mosul before enrolling in the doctoral program. He completed the requirements for a PhD in Private Law from the University of Baghdad, where he began his studies in 1994.
– Teaching and Administrative Careers:
He was displaced from Mosul in 2007 due to security conditions and moved to work at the College of Law at the University of Karbala. He then moved to Baghdad in 2010 and retired in 2015. However, he continued his academic contributions by teaching at Yarmouk University College in Diyala Governorate, as well as at the Judicial Institute (Baghdad).
He also served as the first dean of the College of Law in Kirkuk (which was a branch of the College of Law at the University of Mosul).

– Academic Contributions:
He has authored numerous solid research papers and books taught at Iraqi and Arab universities.
He has also supervised numerous master’s and doctoral dissertations at the local and Arab levels.

We extend our highest appreciation and respect to Professor Dr. Abbas Al-Aboudi for his years of abundant contributions. We ask God to grant him a long life and a full recovery so that he may remain a beacon illuminating our academic journey at our beloved university and our beloved Iraq.
