Master’s Thesis in Private Law on the Simplified Joint-Stock Company / A Comparative Analytical Study
On Sunday, July 13, 2025, the Private Law Department at the College of Law at the University of Mosul discussed a master’s thesis on the Simplified Joint-Stock Company / A Comparative Analytical Study. Professor Dr. Abdulaziz Ramadan Ali, Dean of the College, and several members of the College Council and faculty members attended the discussion.
The thesis, submitted by student Amna Ghassan Younis in the Private Law Department, addressed the simplified joint-stock company, a modern commercial company that legislation has recently begun to regulate as one of the legal means provided by the legislator to support national projects with simple capital that rely primarily on technical and intellectual expertise, develop entrepreneurship, and encourage investment.
The thesis aims to demonstrate that this type of company is one of the modern types of companies characterized by low capital and a flexible nature, demonstrating significant contractual freedom. Its importance lies in supporting owners of small and medium-sized enterprises and startups based on innovative ideas, attracting investment in these types of projects, and achieving economic development. The discussion committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Ayser Essam Daoud, with the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Munhal Abdulghani Mustafa, Assistant Professor Dr. Fawzia Muwaffaq Thanoon, and the membership and supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Muhannad Ibrahim Ali.
