On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, a master’s thesis discussion was held at the College of Law, University of Mosul, in the Dr. Shahida Laila Hall. The thesis was submitted by Badr al-Din Rashid Sinjar, a student in the Public Law Department. The thesis was titled:

“International Liability Arising from Transboundary Pollution.”

The thesis addressed the protection of human beings in their environment and the determination of liability towards those causing pollution (states, individuals, and mixed legal entities).

The thesis aimed to study and clarify international and local mechanisms and their effectiveness, as well as to clarify the legal rules and international mechanisms for determining international liability for environmental damage.

The discussion committee consisted of:
