The session began with a blessed recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by the international reciter, Assistant Professor Dr. Rafe Al-Amiri, followed by a welcoming speech by Professor Dr. Abdul Jalil Munshed Khalaf, Dean of Imam Al-Kadhim University College, in which he welcomed the ladies and gentlemen guests, conveying the greetings of His Excellency the Head of the Shiite Endowment Office, and appreciating the efforts of the Deans’ Committee in supporting academic cooperation between universities. The meeting, chaired by Professor Dr. Miri Al-Khaikani, discussed a number of important topics in the field of developing legal studies in Iraq, foremost among them the impact of the Sharia Code on modernizing curricula, reviewing the evaluation exam syllabus for law colleges, and the necessity of including topics of competition and prevention of monopoly within the curricula, in addition to increasing the number of hours for the Personal Status course (wills and inheritances), as well as discussing other academic and organizational matters aimed at raising the level of legal education in Iraqi universities.
