Scientific lecture

As part of its scientific activities aimed at strengthening academic cooperation with research institutions, and in collaboration with the Center for Peacebuilding and Peaceful Coexistence, the College of Law at the University of Mosul hosted Professor Dr. Fadhil Abdul Zahra Al-Ghazawi, a member of the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law, to deliver a lecture entitled:
(The National Policy for the Protection of Civilians and Contemporary Challenges to International Humanitarian Law).
The lecture was held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, and was attended by a number of faculty members, researchers, and students of the college.
The lecture addressed the main aspects of the national policy for the protection of civilians, highlighting the current challenges facing the application of the rules of international humanitarian law, and the most important means to enhance adherence to them in light of contemporary changes. A discussion and dialogue session with the attendees followed the lecture.
This lecture is part of a series of scientific events that the College of Law seeks to organize, with the aim of raising the academic level and deepening legal awareness of issues related to international humanitarian law and peacebuilding.
