College of Law Discusses a Doctoral Dissertation on Possession and Its Effect on Contracts

On Monday, June 22, 2026, the College of Law at the University of Mosul witnessed the defense of the doctoral dissertation entitled “Possession and Its Effect on Contracts – A Comparative Analytical Study” submitted by the student Buthaina Ouda Hammadi Fayyad Al-Mohammadi, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Yusra Walid Ibrahim.

The dissertation addressed the topic of possession as one of the fundamental matters in contracts and financial transactions, given its significance from both legal and economic perspectives. It elucidated its concept and provisions, distinguished it from similar legal terminology, and examined its effect on both traditional and emerging contracts, including electronic contracts and commerce through social media platforms.
