College of Law at the University of Mosul Discusses a Master’s Thesis on the Legal Regulation of Natural Reserves and Their Role in Achieving Environmental Security

On Thursday, 2 July 2026, the College of Law at the University of Mosul witnessed the defense of the Master’s thesis entitled “The Legal Regulation of Natural Reserves and Its Role in Achieving Environmental Security”, presented by the student Haneen Hani Abdullah, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Shaimaa Abdul Sattar Jabr.

The thesis examined the legal framework for the protection of natural reserves, and clarified the relationship between natural reserves and environmental security in achieving sustainable development and promoting environmental tourism. It also aimed to analyze the legislation regulating natural reserves and assess their adequacy in protecting natural resources and biodiversity, thereby contributing to the achievement of environmental security.

This thesis comes within the framework of the College of Law’s commitment to supporting scientific research that addresses contemporary legal issues, contributes to the development of the legislative system, and promotes concepts of sustainability and environmental protection.
