The College of Law at the University of Mosul discussed, on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, the master’s thesis titled “Administrative Regulation of Sports Bodies – A Comparative Study” , presented by the student Mar’i Amer Mar’i Al-Rubaie.

The thesis addressed the administrative regulation of sports bodies by clarifying the concept of sports bodies and their legal nature, the legal foundations upon which they rely in exercising their competencies, as well as examining the administrative regulation of governmental and non-governmental sports bodies at both the international and national levels, and indicating the extent to which they enjoy administrative and financial independence. It also focused on the administrative structures of sports bodies, their competencies, mechanisms for their formation, means of oversight and supervision over their activities, and the role of international sports bodies in regulating sporting activity.

The study aimed to demonstrate the adequacy of the legal and administrative regulation of sports bodies in achieving sound management of sporting activity, to identify shortcomings in administrative regulation, and to arrive at proposals that contribute to the development of the legal and regulatory framework and the enhancement of management efficiency and good governance in the sports field.
