The College of Law at the University of Mosul organized a workshop entitled “How to Choose a Title for Doctoral Dissertations and Master’s Theses” , as part of the College’s commitment to developing scientific research skills among postgraduate students and elevating the standard of academic theses and dissertations.
The workshop, which was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Ziyad Abdulwahab Al-Nu’aymi, a faculty member in the Human Rights Branch, addressed a number of academic themes related to how to choose an appropriate title for a thesis or dissertation, the criteria to be considered when selecting a title in terms of clarity, precision, and originality, and the extent of its relevance to the research problem and objectives, as well as the importance of the title reflecting the content of the study in a scientific and methodological manner.
The workshop also addressed the most common errors that researchers may encounter when formulating a research title, and mechanisms for ensuring the novelty of the topic and avoiding repetition, thereby contributing to the selection of sound, researchable titles that align with the requirements of scientific research in postgraduate studies.
The holding of this workshop comes within the efforts of the College of Law at the University of Mosul aimed at supporting postgraduate students and developing their research capabilities, thereby contributing to enhancing the quality of the College’s scientific and academic output.
