College of Law Explores Prospects for Joint Cooperation with the Directorate of Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances in Nineveh Governorate

The College of Law at the University of Mosul explored prospects for joint cooperation with the Directorate of Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances in Nineveh Governorate, within the framework of enhancing institutional partnership and activating the academic and legal role in confronting the drug phenomenon and limiting its effects on society.

The meeting was held in the presence of Dr. Saif Luqman Abdulrazzaq and the Director of the Directorate of Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances in Nineveh Governorate, Mr. Dilshad Abdullah Al-Zebari. The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the academic institution and the competent authorities, and to benefit from legal and academic expertise in supporting efforts aimed at combating narcotics and psychotropic substances and preventing their dangers.

Both sides emphasized the importance of expanding areas of cooperation through holding joint seminars, lectures, and awareness workshops, in a manner that contributes to raising the level of legal and community awareness, particularly among university students, and enhancing knowledge of national legislation related to combating narcotics and psychotropic substances.

This cooperation comes in line with the College of Law’s orientations toward enhancing communication with state institutions, activating its academic role in serving society, and contributing to addressing priority societal and legal issues.
