Scientific Workshop for Postgraduate Students at the College of Law, University of Mosul

The College of Law organized a scientific workshop for postgraduate students titled “Fundamentals of Writing Master’s Theses and Doctoral Dissertations” , presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Ziyad Abdulwahab Abdullah, a faculty member in the Human Rights Law Branch, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, in the Martyred Dr. Layla Hall, with the attendance of a large number of postgraduate students from the universities of Mosul.
The workshop addressed a number of fundamental themes that postgraduate students need in preparing and writing university theses and scientific dissertations. It focused on the importance of scientific research and its basic components, starting from the research introduction, the importance of the research, the research problem, the research hypothesis, scientific methodology, and previous studies.
The presenter emphasized the importance of adhering to scientific methodology at all stages of research preparation, and the necessity of achieving harmony between the research problem, its hypotheses, objectives, methodologies, and results, in a manner that contributes to producing academic theses and dissertations in a rigorous scientific manner.
The workshop witnessed interaction and broad participation from the attending students, who raised a number of questions and inquiries related to the stages of preparing postgraduate research and studies. The presenter provided the necessary clarifications and scientific answers regarding them.
