Seminar Series- College of Veterinary Medicine

According to the seminar series for Department of Microbiology, College of Veterinary Medicine using GoogleHangouts Meet.Mrs. Sumaya Yaseen Abdulladelivered seminar on the topic ” Tularemia” onThursday 23rdJuly2020. The seminar was focussed on a causative agent of the so-called rabbit fever, which is a negative bacterium (Francisella tularensis). The tularemia is considered to be an infectious disease that affects humans and animals. Tularemia attacks the skin, eyes, lymph nodes and lungs. Tularemia spreads to humans through several routes, including insect bites and direct exposure to an infected animal. Highly contagious and potentially fatal, tularemia usually can be treated effectively with specific antibiotics if diagnosed early.This seminar was attended by head of department and a number of college staff and postgraduate students.
