The College of Veterinary Medicine, in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit, organized a training course titled “Laboratory Animal Handling Safety Course,” which runs from April 7–9, 2026.

The course aims to:

Learn the principles of biosafety when dealing with laboratory animals.

Acquire proper skills for safely and humanely handling and transporting laboratory animals.

Prevent injuries and zoonotic diseases (those transmitted between animals and humans).

Become familiar with personal protective equipment (PPE) and how to use it.

Adhere to ethical guidelines and scientific standards in the use of animals for research and experiments.

This course aligns with the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
