The College of Veterinary Medicine – Guidance and Educational Counseling Division, in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit, organized a workshop titled “Awareness and Prevention of Suicide” on Monday, April 6, 2026.

The workshop was delivered by Dr. Amoosh Abdulqader Mahmoud from the College of Education, Department of Psychology (Head of the Guidance and Educational Counseling Division).

The workshop aimed to:

Introduce students to the concept of suicide and its risks.

Highlight the factors that may lead to suicidal thoughts.

Discuss ways to overcome such thoughts.

Encourage seeking support by talking to others and consulting specialists to avoid falling into despair.

This workshop is part of the College of Veterinary Medicine’s efforts to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education).
