Master’s Thesis Defense
A Master’s thesis defense was held at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Microbiology, for the thesis entitled:
“Morphological and Molecular Characterization of Buxtonella spp. in Cattle and Buffaloes”
The thesis was presented by Mr. Ziyad Taha Jijo under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Eman Ghanim Suleiman, on Thursday, July 23, 2026.
The examination committee consisted of:

The study aimed to identify the protozoan parasite Buxtonella sulcata in cattle and buffaloes, characterize its developmental stages, investigate the presence of its stages in water and soil samples and their role in the occurrence of diarrhea, and determine the parasite’s genetic sequence.
Following the candidate’s confident and scientific defense of the thesis and a thorough discussion by the examination committee, the thesis was approved.
