Workshop Entitled: “Opportunities and Challenges of Working in the Private Sector: A Guide to Professional Success

As part of the activities and programs of the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security 2025–2030, and in alignment with the objectives of Pillar Two (Development and Economy for Iraqi Women), the Women’s Affairs Committee and the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Veterinary Medicine, in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, held a workshop on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, entitled “Opportunities and Challenges of Working in the Private Sector: A Guide to Professional Success.”

The workshop was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Shahbaa Khalil Ibrahim and Asst. Prof. Intisar Khazaal Shihab from the Department of Pathology and Poultry Diseases. It aimed to guide female students toward the diverse employment opportunities available within the veterinary sector, enhance their communication skills, and provide strategies for professional success. The workshop also highlighted common challenges in the private sector, discussed potential difficulties, and explored practical solutions. The session was marked by active participation, with attendees posing a variety of questions that were thoroughly addressed.

This workshop is part of a series of activities through which the College seeks to promote a culture of sustainable development, in alignment with Goal 4 (Quality Education) of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
