Training Course: Safety Procedures for Handling Laboratory Animals

The College of Veterinary Medicine held a training course titled “Safety Procedures for Handling Laboratory Animals”, which will run from March 30 to April 2, 2026.

The course aims to:

  • Introduce participants to the principles of biosafety when working with laboratory animals
  • Develop proper skills for safely and humanely restraining and transporting laboratory animals
  • Prevent injuries and zoonotic diseases shared between humans and animals
  • Familiarize participants with personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper methods of use
  • Promote adherence to ethical guidelines and scientific standards in the use of animals in research and experimentation

This course contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well‑Being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
