The Department of Accounting at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul Holds a Scientific Workshop on Digital Transformation in Public Sector Units within the Global Entrepreneurship Week

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jameel, the Department of Accounting at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul organized a scientific workshop on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, at 10:30 a.m. in Hall (1), as part of the activities of Global Entrepreneurship Week, titled:
“Digital Transformation in Public Sector Units: From Vision to Implementation”
The workshop aimed to introduce the concept of governmental digital transformation and to highlight the most important digital technologies used in building a unified government platform, contributing to enhancing institutional efficiency, increasing transparency, and improving the quality of services provided to citizens.
The workshop lectures were delivered by:
Assistant Professor Dr. Kubra Mohammed Taher – College of Administration and Economics Assistant Lecturer Abdulsalam Habbo Mohammed – Nineveh Municipalities Directorate
Assistant Lecturer Raafat Bassem Thanoon – Presidency of the University of Mosul
The session was chaired by Professor Dr. Alaa Abdulwahid Thanoon, who also served as the session rapporteur and managed the scientific discussion through interventions and comments.
The workshop was attended by a number of faculty members, staff, and students, reflecting the College’s support for scientific activities that contribute to developing research and practical skills and promoting digital transformation as a fundamental pillar for modernizing public sector institutions.
