The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul Organizes a Scientific Workshop within the Global Entrepreneurship Week

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jameel, the Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul organized a scientific workshop on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in Hall (1), as part of the activities of Global Entrepreneurship Week.
The session was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Aws Fakhruddin Ayoub, and the session rapporteur was Assistant Lecturer Mohammed Jassim Mohammed.
The workshop included three scientific research papers as follows:
The first paper, presented by Professor Dr. Mufeed Thanoon Younis, was titled:
“Entrepreneurship as a Lever for Achieving Sustainable Development: From Idea to Economic Impact”, and discussed the developmental dimensions of entrepreneurship and its role in transforming individual initiatives into tangible and sustainable economic impact.
The second paper, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Nizar Sadiq Elias Al-Qahwaji, was titled:
“Investment Guide: A Necessity for the Success of Entrepreneurship in Nineveh Governorate”, highlighting the importance of an organized investment environment in empowering entrepreneurial projects and enhancing their chances of success.
The third paper, presented by Assistant Lecturer Shaimaa Saber Elias, was titled:
“The Economics of Entrepreneurship: An Analytical Approach to the Impact of Startups on Growth and Employment”, providing an analysis of how startups stimulate economic growth and create job opportunities.
The workshop was attended by a number of faculty members, staff, and students, reflecting the College’s support for scientific activities that contribute to developing research and practical skills, and strengthening the link between academic disciplines and the requirements of sustainable economic development.
