Department of Management Information Systems at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul Discusses a PhD Dissertation on Digital Leadership and Enhancing Digital Maturity

The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul – Department of Management Information Systems, witnessed on Monday, April 27, 2026, in Discussion Hall No. (1), the defense of a PhD dissertation entitled:
“Digital Leadership Capabilities and Their Impact on Enhancing Digital Maturity: Testing the Mediating Role of Cybersecurity Awareness and the Moderating Role of Psychological Empowerment”
By the candidate: Omar Tawfiq Abdulrahman.
The study aimed to develop a clear conceptual framework for its four variables, analyze the causal relationships among them, and build an integrated hypothetical model to be empirically tested. It also sought to diagnose the current state of the researched field and to derive practical, applicable conclusions and recommendations.
Key findings of the study include:
Organizations with higher levels of digital maturity are those that adopt an integrated digital leadership model combining strategic vision and cybersecurity awareness.
Psychological empowerment of individuals enhances the effectiveness of this leadership model.
The integration of these dimensions supports organizational sustainability and strategic flexibility in complex digital environments.
