Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul Discusses a Master’s Thesis on the Digital Economy and Enhancing International Competitiveness

The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul – Department of Economics, witnessed on Monday, April 27, 2026, in Discussion Hall No. (2), the defense of a Master’s thesis entitled:
“Estimating the Impact of the Digital Economy on Enhancing International Economic Competitiveness for Selected Countries”
By the student: Ahmed Ismail Rasheed Al-Hafidh.
The study aimed to analyze and measure the impact of the digital economy and modern technological developments—particularly artificial intelligence—on enhancing international economic competitiveness in a group of selected countries. This was achieved through the application of modern econometric models to examine the nature of relationships among economic variables.
Key findings of the study include:
The economies under study demonstrate a high degree of economic stability and an ability to correct short-term imbalances.
Technological and innovative factors play a pivotal role in supporting economic stability and enhancing competitiveness.
There exists a long-run equilibrium relationship between the digital economy and international economic competitiveness, reflecting these economies’ capacity to absorb shocks and adapt to changes.
