Scientific Publishing and Curriculum Development at the Forefront of the Financial and Banking Sciences Department Council Meeting at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul

The Department Council of Financial and Banking Sciences at the University of Mosul held its regular meeting on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Oday Salem Ali, and attended by members of the department’s faculty.
The meeting was convened in light of the outcomes of the 20th session of the College of Administration and Economics Council. That session was attended by the President of the University, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Abdul-Rahim Ibrahim Jassim, and was chaired by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Muhammad Jamil. The college council session had underscored the vital importance of enhancing academic rigor and supporting scientific and research activities.
The department’s council discussed several scientific and organizational files, foremost among which were:
Scientific Publishing and Promotions: Supporting scientific publishing within Scopus repositories and following up on the procedures for faculty academic promotions.
Adopting English in the Bologna Process: Discussing mechanisms for adopting the English language in postgraduate programs and for certain undergraduate courses within the framework of the Bologna Process.
Curriculum Modernization: Developing the curricula to align with the requirements of modern specializations, particularly after incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and English language courses.
Faculty Skills Development: Emphasizing the development of the faculty staff’s skills during the summer vacation.
Postgraduate Thesis Guidelines: Discussing the regulations for organizing scientific theses and dissertations to enhance the overall quality of academic and research outcomes.
