Department of Business Administration at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul Discusses a PhD Dissertation on Artificial Intelligence and Organizational Sustainability

The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul, represented by the Department of Business Administration, held a PhD dissertation defense on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, in Discussion Hall No. (1). The dissertation was entitled: Employing Artificial Intelligence to Enhance Organizational Sustainability: The Mediating Role of Human Resource Risk Management – An Analytical Study of Employees’ Perspectives at Asiacell Telecommunications Company / Northern Region”

submitted by the doctoral candidate Hussein Raafat Jasim Mohammed Al-Jubouri.

The study aimed to measure the impact of employing artificial intelligence, through its practical dimensions, on enhancing organizational sustainability in its economic, social, and environmental dimensions. It also sought to examine the mediating role of human resource risk management, represented by its dimensions (principles, system, and processes), through an application involving employees of Asiacell Telecommunications Company in the Northern Region.

The study reached several significant findings, most notably:

  1. Artificial intelligence does not operate as a homogeneous system, as certain dimensions demonstrated a stronger direct impact on enhancing organizational sustainability than others.
  2. The findings revealed that human resource risk management serves as a critical intermediary through which the effects of artificial intelligence are translated into sustainable organizational performance.
  3. The study confirmed that the social dimension of sustainability is significantly influenced by the work environment, job security, and organizational trust during digital transformation processes.
  4. The results highlighted the importance of integrating intelligent technologies with human resource management practices to support organizational sustainability and strengthen organizations’ ability to adapt to future changes.
