The Department of Industrial Management at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, a Master’s thesis entitled “Measuring the Impact of Risk Management on Achieving Sustainable Development,” submitted by the student Ahmed Mohammed Abd Sharqi Al-Lahaibi, in Discussion Hall No. (1).

​The study aimed to measure the impact of risk management on achieving sustainable development by analyzing the relationship between the application of risk management according to the dimensions of the international standard ISO 31000:2018—represented by (principles, framework, and process)—and the dimensions of sustainable development, represented by economic, social, and environmental aspects, thereby contributing to enhancing organizational efficiency and achieving comprehensive development.

​The results of the study revealed a statistically significant correlation and impact between the application of risk management dimensions according to ISO 31000:2018 and the achievement of sustainable development. This confirms the importance of adopting risk management methodologies as a strategic approach to support sustainability and enhance the ability of organizations to face challenges and achieve their developmental goals.
