The Industrial Management Department at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, Discusses Master’s Thesis on the Availability of Statistical Quality Control System Requirements and Their Impact on Reducing Solid Waste

The Industrial Management Department at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the Master’s thesis entitled “The Extent of Availability of Statistical Quality Control System Requirements and Their Impact on Reducing Solid Waste,” submitted by the student Luay Fakher Hassan Sarhan Al-Obaidi, on Monday, September 14, 2026 in Discussion Hall No. (2).

​The study aimed to analyze the role of statistical quality control in reducing solid waste, assess the level of application of its tools and the workers’ awareness of them, demonstrate its relationship with industrial waste, and identify the main challenges hindering its implementation within the factory, ultimately leading to enhancing operational efficiency and minimizing waste.

​The study reached several conclusions, most notably the existence of a statistically significant positive correlation between the dimensions of statistical quality control and the reduction of solid waste, as well as a significant positive effect of statistical quality control on enhancing the factory’s ability to minimize solid waste. The study also recommended the necessity of top management support, developing workers’ skills, promoting the use of statistical tools and modern software, improving data collection and analysis systems, documenting standard operating procedures, and adopting continuous control and improvement mechanisms within the factory.
