The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 the third open session of its College Council for the 2026–2027 academic year. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Sinan Zuhair Muhammad Jamil, Dean of the College, in the presence of the Associate Deans, Heads of Scientific Departments, and several heads of administrative sections and units.

​During the session, the Council discussed a number of important administrative and academic topics, foremost of which were the directives issued by the Council of the University of Mosul and the mechanisms for their implementation to enhance institutional performance quality, support the advancement of the educational and research process, and monitor the implementation of approved academic and administrative plans for the current academic year.

​The Dean and members of the Council emphasized the necessity of completing all updated physical and electronic requirements for program accreditation in preparation for the upcoming visit by the specialized ministerial committee, stressing the importance of completing all files in accordance with the required standards.

​The Council also reviewed the attendance and start-of-term status of both undergraduate and postgraduate students, emphasizing that scientific departments must report on students who have not yet reported within the specified deadlines. Furthermore, it stressed the organization and archiving of all postgraduate academic operations through both digital and physical documentation to ensure accuracy and ease of reference.

​Additionally, the Council highlighted the importance of streamlining administrative procedures across the college’s departments and units, enhancing administrative coordination to improve work efficiency. It also reiterated support for scientific publishing in reputable international databases, particularly Scopus, as a fundamental pillar for advancing academic rankings and research excellence, noting that publication output will serve as a key merit criterion for faculty members involved in teaching, supervising, and examining postgraduate students.

​Finally, the Council deliberated on several items related to scientific and teaching affairs, the postgraduate admission plan for the 2027–2028 academic year across various application tracks, guidelines for appointing scientific department coordinators, as well as general discussions and submitted requests, taking the necessary actions in accordance with applicable regulations.
