Discussion of a Master’s Thesis in the Department of Financial and Banking Sciences on Banking Business Models and Their Impact on Financial Stability – College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul

The Department of Financial and Banking Sciences at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Mosul, discussed the Master’s thesis titled “Determining Banking Business Models and Their Impact on Financial Stability – An Analytical Study in a Sample of Commercial Banks Operating in Some Arab Countries,” on Sunday, October 19, 2025, in Discussion Hall No. (1).

​The thesis was submitted by the student Mustafa Ahmed Hussein Al-Omari from the Department of Financial and Banking Sciences. His study aimed to identify banking business models and their impact on financial stability in commercial banks operating in Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates for the period extending from 2014–2023.

​The study concluded that the commercial banks in the research sample rely on two main banking business models: the Diversification Model and the Focus Model, and that these models have a clear impact on the level of financial stability of those banks.

​The session was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Muhammad Jameel, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Salem Khalil Khalid, and the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Abdulrahman Zuhair Abdulqadir.
