The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul Organizes a Scientific Workshop on the Impact of Financial and Administrative Corruption on Human Rights and the Promotion of Institutional Integrity
Under the patronage of the President of University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jameel, and with the follow-up of the Head of the Human Rights Division at the University Presidency, the College of Administration and Economics organized an awareness-raising scientific workshop entitled “The Impact of Financial and Administrative Corruption on Human Rights” on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
The workshop was organized by the Human Rights Unit at the college in cooperation with the University Psychological Counseling Division and the Continuing Education Unit, and in coordination with the High Commission for Human Rights in Iraq / Nineveh Office. The event was attended by a number of academics, researchers, and students interested in issues related to good governance and human rights.
The workshop aimed to highlight the negative impacts of financial and administrative corruption on the human rights system, and to explain its repercussions on sustainable development and institutional stability. It also sought to raise community awareness about the importance of combating corruption and strengthening the principles of transparency and accountability within public institutions.
The workshop sessions were presented by:
Lecturer Dr. Saeed Khadidah Qolo, Head of the Human Rights Division at the Presidency of University of Mosul.
Mr. Yasser Diaa Saeed, Director of the High Commission for Human Rights in Iraq / Nineveh Office.
Mr. Nashwan Salem Mohammed, Assistant Director of the High Commission for Human Rights in Iraq / Nineveh Office.
This workshop comes as part of the college’s ongoing efforts to support awareness, educational, and guidance programs that enhance the university’s role in serving the community and promoting the values of integrity and the rule of law. It also contributes to achieving United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16, which focuses on promoting peace, justice, and strong institutions.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the Dean of the College presented letters of appreciation to the lecturers and participants in recognition of their academic contributions and their efforts in making the event a success.
