The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discusses a doctoral thesis on the impact of environmental factors on agricultural value added.

The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, a discussion of the doctoral thesis titled:
“Measurement and Analysis of the Impact of Environmental Factors on Agricultural Value Added in Selected Countries.”
The thesis was presented by: Imtihan Obeid Sakhir Rawak.
The study aimed to measure and analyze the impact of various environmental and climatic factors, including (temperature, rainfall, emissions, and fertilizer use), on the agricultural value added in a number of Arab and foreign countries during the period (1999–2023). It also explored the role of agricultural technology and innovation in mitigating the negative effects of environmental changes and enhancing sustainability in the agricultural sector.
Key findings of the study included:
Clear differences in the impact of environmental and climatic variables on agricultural value added across the countries in the study sample.
Variations in countries’ responses to environmental changes depending on their economic structure and level of agricultural development.
The importance of employing agricultural technology and innovation to reduce negative effects and enhance agricultural sustainability.
