The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discusses a doctoral thesis on the role of governance in the relationship between public debt and income inequality.

The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, held on Sunday morning, April 26, 2026 at 9:00 in Discussion Hall No. (2), a discussion of a doctoral thesis titled:
“The Role of Governance in the Relationship Between Public Debt and Income Inequality: A Comparative Study Between a Group of Developing and Developed Countries.”
The thesis was presented by: Ruba Rafi’ Muhammad Al-Wazzan.
The study aimed to explore the nature of the relationship between public debt and income inequality, and to highlight the role of governance in managing this relationship to contribute to achieving sustainable development goals.
Key findings of the study included:
A high distribution fairness index is an important indicator of achieving inclusive economic growth.
Ukraine showed significant progress among developing countries, while Honduras faced challenges, with gradual improvements in Peru and a decline in Bulgaria.
Among developed countries, Slovenia led in terms of income distribution fairness, while Panama recorded relatively lower levels.
