Scientific Research Support and Curriculum Development: Focus of the Marketing Management Department Council Meeting at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul

The Department Council of Marketing Management at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, held its regular meeting on Monday, May 18, 2026. The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Bashar Dhaker Saleh, and attended by the Department Coordinator, Assistant Professor Muhammad Ahmad Mahmoud, along with members of the department’s faculty.

​The meeting followed the 20th session of the College of Administration and Economics Council, which was held on Sunday, May 17, 2026. That session was attended by the President of the University, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Abdul-Rahim Ibrahim Jassim, and was chaired by the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Muhammad Jamil. The college council session had emphasized the vital importance of supporting the scientific and research journey and elevating academic rigor.

​The department’s meeting addressed several scientific and organizational tracks, most notably:

Scientific Publishing: Emphasizing the importance of publishing research within Scopus repositories, especially in light of the facilities provided by the University Presidency regarding translation and scientific correspondence.

Academic Promotions: Discussing the academic promotion files for the department’s faculty members and reviewing their progress stages.

Curriculum Modernization (Bologna Process): Discussing the transition toward adopting the English language in postgraduate programs and for certain core subjects in undergraduate studies under the Bologna Process. This includes reviewing curricula after integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and English language courses to align with the department’s scientific specialization.

Faculty Capacity Building: Highlighting the need to develop the faculty staff’s skills during the summer vacation, particularly in English language proficiency.

Postgraduate Quality Control: Discussing the directives received from the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Peer Apparatus concerning the regulation and standardization of the content of postgraduate theses and dissertations, aiming to enhance the quality of scientific and research outcomes.
