“Responsible Marketing and Sustainable Development”: A Scientific Workshop in the Department of Marketing Management at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, to Promote Sustainable Marketing Practices

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jamil, with the follow-up of the Head of the Marketing Management Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Bashar Dhaker Saleh Al-Qotajy, and in cooperation with the Presidency of the University of Mosul (Department of Studies and Planning & the Sustainable Development Unit), the Department of Marketing Management held a scientific workshop titled Responsible Marketing and Sustainable Development on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the department’s meeting hall.

​The workshop addressed the concept of responsible marketing and its role in supporting sustainable development goals (SDGs). It highlighted the importance of organizations adopting ethical and transparent marketing practices that contribute to balancing economic objectives with social responsibility and environmental preservation.

​The workshop’s main tracks covered the philosophy and dimensions of responsible marketing, transparency in advertising campaigns, and building sustainability through modern marketing trends, in addition to reviewing practical models and successful global experiences in this field. It also aimed to spread a culture of corporate social responsibility (CSR), reinforce the principles of credibility and transparency, and encourage institutions to adopt sustainable marketing strategies with a positive societal impact.

​The event was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jamil, and the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Salem Khalil Khalid, along with several faculty members, postgraduate and undergraduate students, researchers, marketing enthusiasts, public and private sector employees, and entrepreneurs.

​The workshop concluded with interactive scientific discussions and dialogues that emphasized the integration between marketing and sustainable development. Finally, certificates of participation were distributed to the researchers and attendees in appreciation of their contributions to the success of the workshop.
