The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul Continues its Regular Meetings to Consolidate Academic Excellence Standards and Enhance Departmental Readiness

The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul held a series of its ongoing regular meetings, chaired by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammad Jameel, and in the presence of the Associate Deans and Heads of Scientific Departments. The meetings aimed to discuss several academic and administrative files that serve as fundamental pillars for developing institutional performance, enhancing the quality of the educational process, and following up on the implementation of ministerial and university directives.

​The meeting held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, witnessed the discussion of several important topics, most notably:

​Discussing the directives of the University of Mosul Council issued from the 23rd session held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, and the mechanisms for their implementation in line with the college’s plans and academic orientations.

​Reviewing the Scientific Departments Classification Form (7th Edition) approved for evaluating scientific departments for the 2025–2026 academic year, with an emphasis on the necessity of fulfilling all its items and avoiding the loss of any evaluation points.

​Adopting scientific publishing in Scopus and Clarivate indexed journals as a primary criterion for allocating postgraduate students to faculty supervisors, and redistributing students on this basis to enhance the quality of academic supervision.

Emphasizing the completion of the teaching load for all scientific departments within the specified timelines, and at the latest by next week.

​Discussing the modernization of scientific department titles to align with technological and economic changes, and in accordance with approved academic practices in prestigious international colleges of administration and economics.

Discussing the study needs plan for postgraduate programs, with a focus on preparing it according to the actual needs of each scientific department and in harmony with development requirements and the labor market.

​Reviewing the decision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the University Council regarding the addition of five grace marks for non-final year students, and discussing the mechanisms for its implementation according to applicable rules and regulations.

​Emphasizing full readiness to receive program accreditation teams, and completing all visit requirements in a manner that reflects the academic and administrative performance level of the scientific departments.

​The meeting concluded by moving to the discussion of the Council’s agenda, taking the necessary measures and recommendations regarding the listed topics to advance the college’s path toward institutional excellence, consolidate the quality of education and scientific research, and keep pace with academic accreditation requirements and rapid developments in higher education institutions.
