The Department of Financial and Banking Sciences at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, Launches its New Academic Year… Quality, Accreditation, and Research Excellence at the Top of Priorities
The Department of Financial and Banking Sciences at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, the first session of the Department Council for the 2026–2027 academic year, chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Uday Salem Ali, Head of the Department, and attended by faculty members, in implementation of the directives of the College Deanship and in preparation for the start of the new academic year.
The session witnessed a review of the key academic, scientific, and administrative achievements accomplished by the department during the past year, alongside discussing the work plan for the new academic year and its implementation mechanisms in line with the college and university orientations, in addition to approving the teaching workload distribution to ensure the regularity and stability of the educational process.
The council addressed a number of academic and organizational files, most notably completing program accreditation requirements and finalizing performance evaluation files for the 2025–2026 academic year, adhering to lecture schedules and fulfilling curriculum requirements, monitoring faculty attendance, and activating the absence tracking system for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, in addition to completing the work of scientific and administrative committees.
The attendees also discussed the importance of maintaining confidentiality in postgraduate student discussions, enhancing scientific publishing in reputable international journals and databases, and encouraging faculty members to participate in Science Day Awards, thereby contributing to highlighting the department’s scientific output and strengthening its academic and research presence.
The session concluded with an emphasis on continuing to work in a spirit of teamwork and leveraging the department’s scientific capabilities to achieve its academic and research goals, thereby enhancing institutional performance quality and aligning with the vision of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul in achieving academic excellence and accreditation.
The Deanship of the College of Administration and Economics Intensifies Preparations for Science Day Awards... Coordination Meetings to Ensure Quality Participation and Outstanding Competition The Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jamil, held a coordination meeting on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, with a number of members of the Science Day Awards committees across scientific departments. The meeting was attended by the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Salem Khalil Khalid, as part of a series of meetings organized by the college in preparation for participating in the Science Day Awards. The meeting discussed submission mechanisms, emphasizing the college's keenness to compete in three main categories: the Award for Outstanding Scientific Research Published in International Databases, the Book Authoring Award, and the Award for Best Graduation Project for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students. The Dean emphasized the importance of adhering to the submission guidelines, noting that the college had previously provided the committees with an instructional video illustrating the electronic submission process. He stressed the need to document the application process via screen recording to ensure procedural integrity, in addition to having committee members explain all controls, instructions, and application mechanisms to faculty members and students, along with clarifying the terms and specified timeframes for each award. The meeting also indicated that the college deanship will maintain direct follow-up on this matter, as another coordination meeting will be held on the upcoming Sunday and Monday, followed by a final meeting on September 13, 2026, prior to the deadline, to ensure the completion of all participation requirements and enhance the college's chances of achieving a distinguished presence in the Science Day Awards. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Dean affirmed that the college views the Science Day Awards as a national platform to highlight scientific and research excellence. He stressed the importance of active participation to reflect the prestigious academic standing of the faculty and students of the College of Administration and Economics, contributing to the consolidation of a culture of creativity and scientific achievement.
