In a First-of-its-Kind Initiative… Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul Gathers the Faculty Community for a Breakfast Representing the Spirit of One Team

In a scene reflecting a culture of appreciation and the true spirit of the university family, Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Muhammad Jamil, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul, launched a distinguished social initiative on Monday morning, September 14, 2026. He invited all college personnel—including administrative staff, faculty members serving as heads of academic departments and administrative units, and those assigned to administrative duties—to a breakfast gathering hosted at a cafe overlooking the Tigris River in Mosul’s scenic Al-Ghabat tourist district, prior to the start of official working hours.

The event was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Rafal Hassan Hamid, Vice President of the University of Mosul for Administrative and Financial Affairs, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Salem Khalil Khalid, Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, and Dr. Abdulrahman Zuhair Abdulqadir, Associate Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs. The gathering was marked by an atmosphere of warmth, camaraderie, and positive communication among the college community.

Speaking to the Media and Government Communication Unit, the Dean emphasized that such initiatives stem from a deep belief that an academic institution’s success begins with strong human connections among its staff. He noted that a thriving work environment is built on mutual respect, appreciation, and teamwork, adding that this gesture serves as a tribute to the dedicated efforts of all college members and aims to strengthen bonds of cooperation outside the formal work setting.

The gathering took place from 6:30 AM to 8:15 AM, with the Dean and his Associate Deans personally covering the expenses out of pocket—a gesture showcasing a leadership style that stays closely connected with its people.

For their part, attendees expressed deep gratitude for the initiative, noting that it represents a novel precedent for the college. They highlighted how it reflects the leadership’s commitment to fostering a workplace grounded in recognition and solidarity, while voicing hope for the continuation of such events that bolster belonging and teamwork—building on previous efforts, including letters of appreciation recently awarded to all staff members for their contributions over the past academic year.
