A faculty member from the College of Basic Education participates in a master’s thesis discussion committee at the College of Education for Human Sciences

Professor Dr. Iyad Mohammed Hamed from the Department of Islamic Education at the College of Basic Education, University of Mosul, participated as a member of a master’s thesis discussion committee in Comparative Jurisprudence.

The thesis is entitled “Al-Imam Al-Nawawi’s Transmissions (Fanqalat) in His Book ‘Al-Majmu’ from the Chapter of Zakat on Gold and Silver to the End of the Book of Zakat – A Comparative Jurisprudential Study,” submitted by the student Sarah Mohammed Tayeb Mustafa Al-Salem, on Thursday, September 10, 2026.

The thesis addressed Imam Al-Nawawi’s transmissions in his book Al-Majmu’ from the chapter on Zakat of gold and silver to the end of the Book of Zakat, including the jurisprudential issues and subsidiary rulings they encompassed. This was achieved by presenting the jurists’ views and their evidences, discussing them, and clarifying the aspects of disagreement regarding the issues under study.

The study aimed to clarify Imam Al-Nawawi’s transmissions concerning Zakat issues, uncover his methodology in presenting jurisprudential issues, study the statements and their evidences, clarify the points of disagreement among them, and ultimately weigh and determine the most preponderant opinion on the issues in question.
