scientific symposium entitled “The Importance of Digital Security in Limiting the Spread of Terrorist Thought Electronically”

Under the patronage of the Honorable President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, and under the supervision of the Honorable Mrs. Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, the respected Professor Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah.
The College of Computer Science and Mathematics held a scientific symposium entitled “The Importance of Digital Security in Limiting the Spread of Terrorist Thought Electronically” today, Monday, 4/29/2024.
Its aim is to highlight the importance of digital security in limiting and preventing the spread of terrorist and deviant ideas electronically. Addressing the elements that can be exploited to spread these extremist ideas, through which young people and other age groups can be exploited, such as electronic addiction and electronic grooming.

Three research papers were presented within this symposium. The first paper touched on the importance of digital security in confronting terrorist ideology. While the second lecture touched on defining the concept of electronic addiction, its causes, means, symptoms, its close relationship with digital security, and limiting the spread of deviant and extremist ideas, and how to prevent it… and finally The third lecture discussed electronic grooming and electronic kidnapping, its methods and a number of techniques, in addition to some statistics on this topic.
At the end of the symposium, recommendations for the symposium were presented. The lecturers were honored and certificates of appreciation were distributed to the participants by the esteemed Mrs. Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics.
